August 28, 2007 VSCPA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION RECEIVES $50,000 GIFT FROM YOUNT, HYDE & BARBOUR TO ESTABLISH SCHOLARSHIP
Richmond (August 28, 2007) — The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) Educational Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of an endowed scholarship by Yount, Hyde & Barbour PC. The accounting firm has committed to fund an annual scholarship of $2,500 while building up to a $50,000 endowed scholarship. The first scholarship will be awarded in Spring 2008.
The Yount, Hyde & Barbour Scholarship will be awarded each year to a junior or senior accounting major to pursue a career in public accounting. The student must be currently enrolled in an accredited Virginia college or university and have demonstrated academic excellence and financial need.
“Our firm has a proud history of leadership in the VSCPA, with five of our shareholder’s being past presidents and chairs of the VSCPA,” said Mark Rudolph, president of Yount, Hyde & Barbour PC. “We continue to believe it is important to contribute to the CPA profession in Virginia by investing in the future leaders of businesses and CPA firms. This endowed scholarship, through the VSCPA Educational Foundation, is a legacy for accounting education and a tribute to the wonderful team members at Yount, Hyde & Barbour.”
