Yount, Hyde & Barbour, PC Names Olivia Hutton and Chris Pearson as Principal

Winchester, Virginia (July 1, 2011)--Yount, Hyde & Barbour, P.C., one of the leading certified public accounting and business consulting firms in Virginia, announces that Olivia Hutton, CPA and Chris Pearson, CPA have become principals in the firm. As principals, Olivia and Chris are responsible for the firm’s strategic growth initiatives as well as leadership and mentoring to the firm’s audit and tax teams.

Olivia joined Yount, Hyde & Barbour after graduation from Bridgewater College in 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business with a major in accounting.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and the Woodstock Lions Club.

Olivia’s focus is on providing financial reporting services to nonprofit organizations, especially private schools, colleges, universities, and foundations. In addition to conducting audits and reviews, she helps clients prepare Form 990, 990-T and Form 990-PF informational returns. Because Olivia is the specialization leader for nonprofit organizations, she has a thorough understanding of applicable regulations and audit standards. This expertise enables her to perform audits efficiently and issue accurate financial statements quickly after completing field work. In addition, she is very good at keeping lines of communication open and letting clients know about current developments in industry and recently issued accounting standards.

Chris joined Yount, Hyde & Barbour in 2001. He graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, accounting, and accounting information systems. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and the Culpeper County Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors and Chairman, Small Business Committee.

Chris delivers a broad range of accounting, tax, assurance and business consulting services to clients, with a focus on the construction industry and small businesses. In addition to helping manage the firm’s Culpeper office, Chris is a member of the YHB Construction Industry niche team. He has vast experience in preparation of financial statements and entities tax compliance for private company clients. He is highly skilled at helping the owners of small businesses set goals anddevelop strategic plans. His deep knowledge of business operations and management makes him adept at identifying ways for clients to increase operational efficiency and take advantage of growth opportunities, tax credits and profit enhancement strategies.
