Darren Iden, Principal with Yount, Hyde & Barbour, Inducted in the Shepherd University Athletic Hall of Fame
Winchester, Virginia (October 2011) Darren Iden, CPA, and Yount, Hyde & Barbour Principal, was inducted into the Shepherd University Athletic Hall of Fame on September 16 in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Darren, Class of ’89, played men’s tennis during his years studying accounting at the university. He is among only 125 inductees over the last 26 years.
Darren played on the Rams singles and doubles tennis teams. He was a prominent Shepherd University player in 1984 and 1987-89. He finished his career with the program’s all-time wins leader with a 104-50 career mark. He was also instrumental in winning the WVIAC number one doubles title which led the Rams to the WVIAC crown in the 1988. Darren was a winner again in 1989 and captured the number one singles and doubles titles on his way to gaining WVIAC Player of the Year honors.
Darren commented, “Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a great honor and especially meaningful for me since I grew up in Shepherdstown.” During his years at Shepherd University, Darren learned more than accounting basics – he developed leadership skills and built a solid reputation as a team player. Both attributes continue to define him today and contribute to many client successes. We congratulate Darren on being inducted into the Hall of Fame and bringing his team spirit to Yount, Hyde & Barbour.
