Glen Allen, Virginia (April 22, 2010) – Virginia Society of
Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) presented Money-Wise Women at the Richmond CPA center. Elsie Rose, CPA and shareholder with Yount, Hyde & Barbour, P.C., served as the discussion leader. This event was in conjunction Virginia Financial Literacy Month.
Women are faced with unique financial issues. Elsie discussed some of these issues and how women can identify and become aware of resources and opportunities to overcome financial obstacles. The audience gained tips, tools and techniques to help plan for financial issues for milestones such as child’s education, divorce and widowhood, and retirement, among many other concerns. Visit www.FinancialFitness.org or www.vscpa.org to learn more information on financial literacy topics.
Elsie Rose, an advocate for promoting women’s financial health, said that conducting this seminar brings her joy if she can help educate just one woman to be financially independent. She went on to say, “ Women who use even some basic financial strategies are significantly better prepared to care for themselves and loved ones. Financial literacy is passed from one generation to the next. The opposite is also true.”
