Winchester, Va. -- Continuing an expansion effort that has seen the firm become one of the fastest growing certified public accounting (CPA) practices in Virginia, Yount, Hyde & Barbour, P.C. (YHB) announced it is merging with Rose, Sanderson & Creasy LLC (RSC), a Richmond based CPA firm. Rose, Sanderson & Creasy will adopt the Yount, Hyde and Barbour, P.C. name and RSC principals Elsie Rose, CPA, David Creasy, CPA, and John Sanderson, CPA will assume similar positions with YHB. The RSC staff, joined by accountants in YHB’s Richmond practice, will continue to work out of their Glen Allen offices. The merger is a key step in YHB’s plans to expand its presence in the Richmond market area and widen its footprint in the state. With the addition of RSC’s staff, YHB now has a combined staff of 140, including 19 shareholders, serving clients throughout the state with offices in Culpeper, Leesburg, Middleburg, Richmond and Winchester. YHB is the third largest accounting firm based in Virginia and the eighth largest overall, according to Virginia Business. YHB was also named by Public Accounting Report as one of the nation’s fastest growing CPA firms. “We are thrilled to welcome RSC into the YHB fold,” said Mark Rudolph, YHB president and CEO. “The professionals at RSC have outstanding reputations built on decades of consistently providing the highest quality service and advice. We have a great deal of respect for them both professionally and personally, and we feel very fortunate to combine our practices.” “Uniting RSC’s responsive service reputation, technical skills and knowledge of the Richmond market with our extensive business consulting expertise in numerous industries and practice areas positions us to capitalize on new business opportunities,” he continued. “This raises our profile throughout Richmond and its surrounding area significantly.” “The merger allows us to provide extended services to our business and individual clients with the expertise and depth of the expanded firm,” said Elsie Rose. “Combining forces with YHB is going to benefit our clients immensely.” Earlier this year, YHB announced plans to significantly increase the size and service capabilities of the firm over a five year period, including building and strengthening its base of operations in the Richmond market. “A primary goal of our expansion effort is to grow with our clients and their needs,” said Rudolph. “Our firm is fortunate to have clients throughout Virginia and the surrounding region. In opening new offices, we are locating staff and resources closer to our clients so that we can better serve them.”
