If estimated payments were prepared, separate letters may be enclosed detailing the estimates payments that should be made. If you still have questions, please reach out to your YHB representative.

What should I do if I have payments to make?

If a payment is due along with your Federal/state returns or estimated payments, print out a copy of the applicable payment voucher(s) and mail the voucher and payment according to the instructions included with your return in a timely manner. If you would like YHB to prepare the vouchers and mailing envelopes, please contact your YHB representative and we are happy to prepare them for you.

Why am I being asked to verify my identity?

IRS regulations require tax preparers to verify a taxpayer’s identification via knowledge-based authentication before the taxpayer is able to electronically sign their e-file authorization form.

If I file jointly, does my spouse also need to sign the e-file authorization form?

Yes, IRS regulations require both spouses to sign the e-file authorization forms if filing jointly.  In this case, each spouse will receive a separate email with a unique link in order to sign the e-file authorization form.

How many attempts do I have to pass the knowledge based authentication process?  What should I do if I fail?

You have three attempts to pass the knowledge-based authentication process. If you fail after three attempts, you can contact us and we will reset the process, allowing you repeat the knowledge-based authentication process again. If you prefer, we can also send you the necessary forms to sign manually.

What should I do if I change my mind and want to sign my documents manually?

If you prefer to sign your documents manually, simply contact us and let us know. We are happy to prepare a paper copy of your return and the necessary e-file authorization forms if requested.

I am having problems with DocuSign and want to speak to someone about it.  Who should I call?
